This course is aimed at guitarists who have some experience on the guitar but none playing blues.
It takes you through the foundational stage of learning, where you learn your first few chords and scales.
Blues is a relatively simple form of music, it can be played with only three chords, and one scale which only contains 5 notes.
So getting started is easy.

The course covers all the foundational aspects of blues.
This means you'll be taught how to play rhythm guitar (comping) and how to get started making up solos.
From this starting point you'll have the tools to continue to self-study and improve on your own. You will also have continuous access to our study materials after finishing the course, so you can continue to practice.
The course is designed to prepare students for the intermediate courses, Lead Phrasing, Technical Training, and All Blues.
The diagrams opposite show how the skills learned on Blues Basics get you started by covering everything at the Foundation Stage.
